AVALANCHE, WINTER SKILLS & SURVIVAL COURSES 04/05
Guide Service FEE:  $350/day plus expenses.

All events are by Reservation, we do far more private courses than scheduled ones. All two day events are at the Meiss Hut. Three day avalanche courses include instruction by an American Avalanche Association certified instructor, food & Lodging at the Meiss Ski Hut.

AVE 1, level one avalanche certificate 24 hour courses ( conforms to AAA guidelines)

AVE 2, a level 2 avalanche certificate course, AVE 1 is required

Snow shoe hut weekends. Lots of natural history and winter camping and travel information. At the most scenic site in the Tahoe Basin. Food and Meiss Hut lodging included.

Wilderness First Aid & WFR Refresher FEE: $330 
Day 1; Primary and secondary assessments, head and neck injuries
Day 2; Soft tissue, musculoskeletal injuries
Day 3; Evacuation Procedures and Scenarios

Land Navigation/ Route Finding   Map, compass, altimeter & GPS use on the most important mental map.

Sierra High Route  The first SHR which is also a part of an AVE 5 course will have some mystery guest instructors.

CORN CAMP the annual hut gathering features spring skiing using old technique- wedelin
and four kinds of telemark turns- and fondue in the Meiss Country. Our annual kickback "we made it party"
